If you install the eLink AddIn components then eLink will add extra buttons to your Outlook program that look like this:
![]()
From left to right, the buttons do the following:
- turn an email into a document within eLink
- turn an email into a diary entry within eLink
- turn an email into a to-do item within eLink
- create a new contact in eLink with the sender’s email address
- open an item in eLink (works from eLink Notifications)
- search for a contact in eLink
- synchronise a choice of tasks, diary entries and contacts from Outlook to eLink and back (particularly useful if you then synchronise from Outlook to a PDA or Smartphone)
- accept a request to attend a meeting
- decline a request to attend a meeting
Occasionally you may get an error ($ERROR$ The operation failed) when synchronising diary entries between eLink and Outlook. This seems to be caused by accepting an Outlook Meeting Request by email and the synchronisation has trouble. This error can be cured by deleting the offending diary entry and manually recreating it in eLink or Outlook.
