Each eLink Lite user is entitled to 30 days free trial of each add-on module available with eLink Lite. The trial manager shows each user the list of available modules, allows them to select the module(s) they wish to try out, so that they may choose them in whatever combination suits them and whenever it is convenient to them.
In addition to the modules that are available for each user, there are a number of modules that can be tried out on the system as a whole. These can only be selected by users who are approved as managers of the system. This is also true of the enhanced configuration management modules.
When a user starts a trial, they will be sent regular reminders by email that their trial is running. Also, when the user logs into the system, they will be presented with reminders of the trials that they are running. We do this because we would not want users to accidentally forget to sign up for facilities that they are currently enjoying. Once a user has completed their assessment of a module, and they recognise the importance of that module for their activities, they will need to ask a user with configuration management rights to add the module permanently for them. Modules are added per user, so that each user can have the exact functionaility suited to their individual needs.
