Stand Alone

It is possible to set up eLink on a stand alone PC (rather than on a server). If you do this on a Windows Vista PC running IIS 7.0 then you need some additional help above what is detailed in the eLink installation guide. The extra steps that need to be taken to get eLink running on a Vista PC with IIS 7.0 are as follows:

To begin, authorise ISAPI extensions, in Control Panel / Programs and Features / Internet Information Services (IIS) / World Wide Web Service / Application Development Features, check the box “ISAPI Extensions:

Authorise ISAPI extensions

Next, run COM+ application manager:

Run the COM+ Application Manager

Right Click on COM+ application « Link Server » / Properties. On « Security », don’t check the box:Enforce access checks for this application”:

Link Server COM+ Settings

IIS 7 Configuration. Open Control Panel / Administrative Tools / IIS Manager:

IIS Manager on Vista

Go to « ISAPI and CGI Restrictions» and Right Click / Modify Parameters of restrictions ISAPI and CGI/ Allow ISAPI:

IIS 7.0 ISAPI settings

And to finish, verify that the ISAPI.dll is enabled:

IIS 7.0 ISAPI .dll enabled

Now restart IIS. All done.
